For Osprey Block, The Three Week Playmakers, led by Dallas Padoven and Oliver Kennedy, have collaborated to create a two-hour production called “Peter and the Starcatcher,” which tells the origin story of Peter Pan and other characters.
Technical director Dallas Padoven states, “My goals for this particular show are really collaboration and kind of hustle, honestly. In the world, a lot of the time, we have to hustle. We have to get things kind of created quickly, and we have deadlines, so this is a great way for a project-based school for us to genuinely create a product altogether.”
The show was performed on September 25th and 26th in the commons area for audience members. For these past three weeks, the Playmakers had been rehearsing to put on this production, but also been learning from Broadway and circus performers, professional actors, and directors from other theater companies through masterclasses (Zoom calls). The production made a positive impact on the people who worked on and with the play.
Cast member, Boedy Imming, reveals: “My favorite part of the play is probably hanging out with my friends… It’s a really fun experience working with people I don’t know in the theater space.”
